Ekiti Forest Roadmap Implementation Action Plan 2021-2035
The Ekiti Forest Roadmap Implementation Action Plan is a document detailing what forest
management activities must be taken in order to achieve the 8 goals and 38 associated targets
contained in the road map to sustainable management of Ekiti forest resources towards the
“Ekiti forest we want” by 2035. It is a product reflecting the contributions of relevant
Stakeholders engagement at various levels and forest dependent communities along the
forest value chain.
The action plan has identified 60 specific/implementable activities with targets, associated
costs, deliverables/outcomes, shared responsibilities among stakeholder groups and with
timeline for each activity.
The Action Plan implementation would require (N7,923,553,000)
Seven Billion, Nine Hundred and Twenty- Three Million, Five hundred and Fifty-Three
Thousand Naira only.
The decision on the Implementation of the Action plan will depend on a number of factors;
chief among are the capacity of stakeholders to mobilise resources from all sources, the priority
attached to some activities, the nature and length of time required of such activity (short,
medium and long-term period). The implementation of the Action Plan requires the
deployment of effective leadership of the Ekiti State Government (largest forest owner),
seeking partnership and continual engagement of other forest owners, forest users, forest
dependent communities, farmers, wood-based associations, Non-governmental
Organisations, relevant government agencies and Donor Partners.
The action plan will no doubt create synergy among operators, focusing their efforts at the
achievement of the overall goal in an effective and efficient manner.
